Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: 25/09/2024
Welcome to Console Works! By using our services, including the repair of consoles via mail-in, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these terms carefully before proceeding with any transactions.
1. Services Offered
Console Works specializes in the repair of video game consoles, including but not limited to:
- HDMI port replacement
- Stick drift repair
- General hardware repairs
By submitting a repair request, you authorize Console Works to perform diagnostics, repairs, and, if necessary, part replacements on your console.
2. Mail-in Repair Process
You are responsible for properly packaging your console for shipping. Console Works is not liable for any damage caused by improper packaging during transit. Please follow the packing instructions provided in your confirmation email to avoid shipping damage.
- Initial Diagnostics: Upon receiving your console, we will conduct an initial diagnostic to confirm the issues and any additional repairs required. You will be notified of any additional costs if they arise.
- Repair Timeframe: Typical repair times are between 3 to 7 business days from the date of receipt, depending on the complexity of the repair. You will be updated if repairs take longer.
3. Shipping Policy
- Inbound Shipping: You are responsible for shipping your console to us. Shipping costs and insurance for inbound shipments are your responsibility.
- Return Shipping: We offer return shipping as part of our services, which will be charged separately if not included in the repair package. You will receive tracking information once your console has been shipped back to you.
- Shipping Damage: Console Works is not responsible for damage during shipping. We recommend using a trusted courier and purchasing insurance for valuable items. Any damage claims must be addressed with the shipping carrier.
- Lost Packages: If the package is lost in transit when returning from Console Works, we will assist in the investigation with the shipping carrier. However, the maximum liability is limited to the declared value of the console.
4. Payment Terms
- Payment Methods: We accept payment via Stripe, PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard. All payments must be made before we return the repaired console to you.
- Estimates and Additional Charges: Initial estimates provided are based on the information given. If additional repairs are needed beyond what was initially agreed upon, you will be contacted for approval before any extra work is done. No additional repairs will be carried out without your consent.
5. Warranty
- Repair Warranty: We offer a 90-day warranty on parts and labor for all repairs. The warranty covers the specific repair completed but does not extend to new issues that may arise after the service.
- Warranty Limitations: The warranty is void if the console is opened, tampered with, or repaired by another party after our service. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, or any issues caused by misuse after the repair.
6. Data and Privacy
We highly recommend backing up all data before shipping your console for repair. Console Works is not responsible for any data loss during the repair process. We do not transfer or store your data, and any customer information provided (e.g., address, contact details) will be used solely for the purposes of the repair and shipping process in compliance with privacy laws.
7. Liability
- Limitations of Liability: Console Works is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services, including but not limited to data loss, console damage during shipping, or delays caused by third-party services.
- Console Inspection: We will inspect your console upon arrival. Any pre-existing damage will be noted, and you will be informed before proceeding with repairs.
- Maximum Liability: In the unlikely event that your console is damaged or lost while in our possession, Console Works’s maximum liability is limited to the lesser of (a) the fair market value of the console at the time of the damage or loss, or (b) the cost of repair.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your repair request before the console is shipped to us without penalty. Once the console has been shipped and received, cancellation may not be possible if repairs have begun.
- Refunds: Refunds are only provided for services not completed or in cases where a repair could not be performed. Diagnostic fees are non-refundable. If you decide not to proceed with a repair after diagnostics, return shipping fees will still apply.
9. User Conduct and Responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Send in consoles with illegal modifications or content.
- Submit false or misleading information in relation to your repair order.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Greater Manchester.
11. Changes to Terms and Conditions
